About The Position

The Monitor Technician position at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center involves indirect patient care, primarily focusing on monitoring cardiac rhythms and supporting nursing staff. This role is essential in ensuring patient safety and effective communication within the department, while also managing administrative tasks related to patient care documentation.

Requirements

• Previous acute care experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to communicate in English (Speak, Write).
• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors.
• Meet the communication needs of the department.
• Transcribe physician orders in the absence of CPOE and EMR clinical documentation system.
• Verify that lab tests and radiology tests have been ordered and completed.
• Prepare and compile records in the ER.
• Order supplies for the unit and prepare each patient's chart for necessary forms needed daily.
• Assist nursing staff with indirect patient care duties as long as it does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.
