About The Position

A Monitor Technician is responsible for monitoring the heart rhythm pattern of patients to detect abnormal pattern variances using telemetry equipment. The technician reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm patterns, current patterns, and prior variances. They observe the cardiac monitor and listen for alarms to identify any abnormal variations in heart rhythm. If any variances are detected, the technician informs the Assistant Nurse Manager and/or Registered Nurse to initiate an examination of the patient.

Responsibilities

• Observe cardiac monitors and listen for alarms to identify abnormal variations in heart rhythm.
• Inform Assistant Nurse Manager and/or Registered Nurse of any variances detected.
