About The Position

The Monitor/ICU Technician position at National Park Medical Center involves performing telemetry monitoring under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Handle with Care (HWC) certification within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a healthcare setting.
• Previous telemetry monitoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identify significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervene appropriately.
• Identify and correct for artifacts.
• Report abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Test equipment for proper working order.
• Report equipment problems to supervisor.
