About The Position

Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a highly skilled Molecular Technologist to join a clinical laboratory in Lafayette, LA. This role involves conducting PCR molecular testing and ensuring high-quality standards in the laboratory. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in PCR molecular testing and will work the night shift to help establish the department. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced molecular diagnostics in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, clinical laboratory science, or related field.
• Louisiana State License.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in PCR molecular testing.
• Strong knowledge of molecular diagnostic techniques, including PCR.
• Familiarity with CLIA regulations and laboratory compliance standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform PCR molecular testing, including sample preparation, amplification, and data analysis.
• Maintain laboratory protocols and procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with CLIA regulations.
• Monitor laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance.
• Assist in quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) activities to ensure reliable test results.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide insights for patient care.
• Ensure proper documentation of test results, maintenance logs, and other relevant laboratory records.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in molecular testing and implement best practices in the lab.
