About The Position

The Molecular Lab Technician I at Fulgent Therapeutics is responsible for performing clinical laboratory test procedures in accordance with standard operating and quality assurance procedures. This role involves executing complex lab procedures under general supervision, contributing to Clinical Sequencing Services, and maintaining compliance with laboratory standards. The technician will play a vital role in ensuring accurate test performance and reporting, while also supporting the overall cleanliness and order of the laboratory environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in molecular biology, genetics, or a related field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in a clinical setting with hands-on involvement in molecular/genetics testing is preferred.
• Strong work ethic and immaculate attention to detail.
• Knowledge of molecular biology and/or medical genetics in a clinical setting.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with clinical laboratory procedures and protocols.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory test procedures following standard operating and quality assurance procedures under general supervision.
• Maintain good record keeping for all testing performed as mandated by established protocols.
• Follow approved laboratory procedures for all divisions of clinical testing that the technician has received training on.
• Execute complex lab procedures including Sanger sequencing, qPCR, RPPCR, MLPA, and NGS library prep under general supervision.
• Assist with troubleshooting and identify problems that may affect test performance or reporting of results, reporting issues to the lab supervisor.
• Assist with daily maintenance of lab cleanliness and order.
• Maintain stocked laboratory supplies and place orders as needed according to established procedures.
• Complete all assigned training courses in a timely manner as mandated by the compliance team.
• Maintain open communication with team members to promote a healthy work environment.
• Ensure compliance with established laboratory standards for safety, privacy, and HIPAA regulations.
