About The Position

Eurofins PSS is seeking a highly motivated Molecular Biology Lab Associate to support client molecular biology and protein production workflows on-site at a client facility in Cambridge, MA. This role is heavily hands-on and contributes directly to the high‑throughput generation of DNA, RNA, and protein samples supporting research programs. The Lab Associate will perform molecular biology and macromolecule production activities including DNA construct generation, PCR, sequencing preparation, DNA production and quantitation, mammalian cell culture and transfection support, protein purification, and use of automated liquid handling systems. The position plays a key role in consistently delivering hundreds of high‑quality protein samples each week to client research teams. In addition to laboratory work, the Lab Associate is responsible for accurate data entry, sample tracking, and communication of results to project teams using laboratory databases and organized presentations.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Molecular Biology or a related scientific discipline
  • 0–2 years of relevant laboratory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to follow standard operating procedures with high attention to detail
  • Hands-on experience with core molecular biology techniques, including PCR, cloning, construct design, DNA/mRNA preparation, and sequence analysis
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and remain adaptable in a fast‑paced environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with laboratory automation is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design and clone DNA plasmids
  • Perform automated, high‑throughput DNA purification
  • Execute molecular biology workflows including PCR setup, ligation reactions, and DNA purification using liquid handling automation
  • Perform DNA and RNA quantitation and quality control
  • Support transient mammalian cell transfections
  • Organize, track, and store DNA fragments and plasmids using Genedata Biologics Software and electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Prepare samples for Nanopore sequencing, operate sequencing systems, and support data analysis
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
  • Review scientific literature to stay current with emerging technologies, molecular biology methods, and protein production workflows
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and method optimization
