Molding Technician

Job Summary 3rd Shift 11pm-7am Reporting to the shift supervisor or Lead Process Technician, the Injection Mold Setter installs mold tools into Injection Molding Machines and prepares them to run.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and understand work orders
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical ability
- Ability to easily and comfortably use hand tools
- Ability to climb up and down ladders frequently
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with molds (mold setting in a manufacturing environment)
Responsibilities
- Perform job changeover by removing and storing tools and auxiliary equipment to prepare machines for next production run.
- Remove molds from the machine and set the new molds safely using overhead cranes
- Ensure that the correct mold and materials are being used
- Make all necessary hydraulic, water and electrical connections
- Communicate problems, needs and important information to supervisor
- Fill in for Press Attendant as required
- Other tasks/duties as assigned
- Provide and implement ideas to improve the efficiency of the mold setting process and reduce down time
- Practice good housekeeping and appropriate measures to prevent pollution or other negative impacts on the environment
