About The Position

The Molding Operator II is a mid-level role within Repligen's Injection Molding manufacturing group. Based in cleanroom production suites, this position is responsible for manufacturing moderately complex molded parts that support the bioprocessing industry. These include multi-dimensional, dual-element, and high-demand parts. Building on the skills and experience of an Operator I, this role requires additional technical knowledge, independent problem-solving, and a strong focus on efficiency, quality, and safety. Molding Operator II employees will also be trained in processes that involve multiple mold tools, a higher level of precision detail as well as exceptional attention to quality standards. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years of molding, production, or machine operation experience required; liquid injection molding experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot molding equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Reliable transportation required (location not accessible by public transit).
  • Ability to read, write, and understand basic English required
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Responsibilities

  • Operate injection molding machines under supervision to produce molded components according to specifications.
  • Load raw materials, monitor machine cycles, and ensure molds are properly prepared.
  • Conduct basic in-process checks using gauges or calipers, reporting any issues to a Lead or Operator II.
  • Identify and report obvious molding defects (e.g., flash, short shots, burns) to a supervisor.
  • Assist with material changes, purging, and housekeeping of molding equipment.
  • Record production data, scrap, and downtime as directed.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in training and skill development to progress to higher-level roles.
