Reporting to the Production Manager, the molder is accountable for producing single wall and double wall shells, domes, and related products.
Follow established procedures to apply material by hand and/or machine to produce standard and nonstandard components and products.
Prepare mold or tool surface properly with release film, wax and other part release products.
Utilize resin, glass, catalyst, mold releases and related materials, adjusting for changing climatic conditions.
Trim parts to the proper dimensions based on process sheets, established standards, drawings and verbal instructions.
Inspect laminate surfaces for defects, imperfections, foreign material or other non-conformance, identifying and correcting as necessary.
Other direct Molding activities as required.
Maintain a safe working environment by aligning with corporate safety rules and regulations, and ensuring a culture of safety
Ensure that the equipment and process operate efficiently and safely
Provide support to the generation of HAA and SOP
Cooperate with their employer for the purposes of protecting the health and safety of themselves as well as other workers either engaged or at the work site where the work is being carried out.
High school diploma is preferred
Minimum 3-5 years General related experience or previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required
Ability to read and follow blueprints and drawings is an asset
Good understanding of English, including verbal, written, and reading skills
Ability to communicated effectively with other and work as part of a team
Ability to learn new tools and equipment
Good problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail in order to spot material and product defects
Comfortable working in a fiberglass plant environment
Ability to work at heights and within confined spaces when required
Ability to work variable hours including overtime and weekends as needed
Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 20-50 lbs., bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
Previous experience with a spray gun is a definite asset
