This position is responsible for the efficient and safe operation and quality control within an assigned section of machines or department. Key duties include checking master and daily department schedules for changes or special instructions, setting and monitoring machine parameters such as contrast, mixture, temperatures, plastic volume, pressure, and time. The Molder must maintain all machines according to control standards, ensuring documentation like monitors, plugs, and cycle sheets are accurate and updated. Quality assurance is critical, involving investigating and repairing defects, cleaning systems of defective parts, and re-qualifying processes for accepted production. The role also requires performing various shots (color, material, board, repair) as scheduled, checking machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment for proper running condition, and submitting maintenance tickets when necessary. Controlling waste, scrap, and regrind, along with maintaining a clean and safe department, are also part of the responsibilities. Effective communication with out-going shift personnel regarding problems or assignments is essential, and the Molder will perform other assigned duties.
