Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work with others.
  • Good math skills.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Must know how to use basic measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Knowledge of injection mold components, terminology, and their relationships to each other.
  • Mechanical ability.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work around grease, oils, and solvents without adverse reactions.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and squat throughout entire shift.
  • Mechanical knowledge, basic measuring tool experience, forklift/crane

Responsibilities

  • Participate in required pre-shift stretching unless exempt with medical documentation.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report issues to the supervisor immediately.
  • Work collaboratively and request assistance when needed.
  • Operate molding presses, set and pull molds, and perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Clean, inspect, and prepare molds for installation, ensuring all components, electrical, water, and air connections are correct.
  • Test molds (water, air, electrical) and green-tag when production-ready.
  • Maintain accurate mold maintenance records, including work performed and dates.
  • Keep the Tool Room and work areas clean and organized.
  • Assist with mold repairs and support other Tool Room staff.
  • Ensure machine settings, safety stops, and nozzles are properly configured.
  • Notify leadership of damaged molds, repair needs, or required supplies.
  • Complete required inspections and follow all CPRO/ISO, HACCP, SQF, and GDC procedures.
  • Shut down equipment if there is immediate risk to people or property.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Tooling leadership.
