  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • 1+ year experience in Automotive Industry
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Reading and Comprehension Skills
  • High School diploma or (GED).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have fork lift and crane certification.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Standing, twisting, bending and walking.
  • Exposure to manufacturing/plant environment.
  • Able to adhere to the essential job functions and physical demands sheet that is specific to the die setter position. (see attached list for physician evaluation)

Responsibilities

  • Operates the overhead crane to move molds to and from the injection molding press.
  • Connects molds to the crane by attaching the chains, hooks, and lifting rings properly.
  • Using air tools to install mold in press according to specifications.
  • Connects all water and hydraulic lines from the press to the mold, checks for leaks and repairs damaged components as needed.
  • Enters machine settings to specified parameters by loading the correct program into the press controller and into the robot controller.
  • Connects and sets the hot runner controller to the correct settings.
  • Installs end of arm tooling for the robot and adjusts as required.
  • Starts press and observes operation to detect malfunction.
  • Starts external equipment and observe operation to detect malfunctions.
  • The employee must understand the injection molding machine controller, its display screens, and their functions.
  • Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to inspect crane chains, hooks, and lifting rings for any physical defects.
  • Daily documentation of reports related to the job.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Has the responsibility to aid in the provision of a safe and clean work environment. This will be accomplished by participating in the safety process. Examples of participation would include, but not limited to: conducting internal safety audits, investigation of accidents and communication of safety related information
