About The Position

Maintain various types of molds by performing the proper mold break down, cleaning and preventive maintenance. Inspect and perform precision measurements of molds and tooling components and compare to print specification. Prepare and operate variety of machine tools, such as but not limited to, radial drill press, lathes, milling machines, band/table saw and sand blasters, to machine metal work pieces usually on custom basis. Fabricate advanced metallic and nonmetallic parts, and fit and assemble machined parts into complete units. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts. Measure, mark, and write dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years’ work experience in setting up and operation of Lathes, manual mill, drill press, grinders sand blaster and other machining equipment.
• 3+ years’ experience using calipers, micrometers, depth gauges and other precision measuring equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties

Nice To Haves

• Vocational or trade school in related trade.
• 5 years’ experience with troubleshooting and building plastic injection molds.
