WHAT YOU WILL DO: “Quality & Safety are Top Comar Priorities” Design and produce mold components, including repairs and revisions, fixtures, end-of-arm tooling, nests and other custom equipment required to support production. Maintain various types of molds by performing the proper mold break down, cleaning and preventive maintenance. Inspect and perform precision measurements of molds and tooling components and compare to print specification to determine ware. Be able to effectively operate equipment as required. Prepare and operate variety of machine tools, such as but not limited to radial drill press, lathes, milling machines, band/table saw and sand blasters, to machine metal work pieces usually on custom basis. Fabricate advanced metallic and nonmetallic parts and fit and assemble machined parts into complete units. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts. Measure, mark, and write dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining. Participate in development and training of mold mechanics I & II. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Adhere to and communicate to others the Health, Safety and Quality policies, including use of PPE. Other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities & Skills for our SQF Certified Sites: Have a basic understanding of the cGMPs and Good Hygiene Personnel Practices Notify SQF Practitioner and/or Supervisor of any repairs or adjustments that are required. Perform Basic Sanitation Functions Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, and or Regulatory Requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company, HACCP, and SQF. Notify SQF Practitioner/Quality Manager or any other Management personnel of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues. Identify problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the raw material, processes, quality system, or safety system, by performing Production/Quality Checks as assigned. Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system. Be able to execute and follow the HOLD SOP. Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected. Employee follows all Food Fraud/food Defense Policies while on company property. Thorough understanding of all Company policies, including GMP’s and safety policies, HACCP & SQF. Safety and Cleanliness Adhere to safety policies. Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe conditions to supervisor. Wear company issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as uniforms, gloves, hairnets. A High School or equivalent graduate with previous experience in a manufacturing setting and at least 5 years of experience in tool room equipment usage and tooling related functions. Completed machinist apprenticeship or journeyman program with measurement technique certification. Minimum 3 years of work experience in setting up and the operation of CNC Mills, Lathes, drill press, grinders sand blaster and other machining equipment. Minimum 3 years of experience using calipers, micrometers, depth gauges and other precision measuring equipment. Advanced knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties. Preferred: Vocational or trade school degree. Experience using the Enterprise Resource Planning tool, DELMIAWorks (formerly IQMS). Experience in an ISO 9001 and/ or ISO 13485 certified environment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read in metric units and the imperial (US math) system. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak clearly before groups of customers or fellow employees. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications. Ability to use measuring tools, depth gauges, height gauges, micrometers and calipers. Effectively communicate with supervisor. The ability to read, write, and comprehend information provided to them. Ability to develop and train Mechanic I & II and other production associates as needed.
