Primary Responsibilities: Train and mentor fellow Tool Makers as needed. Take responsibility for ensuring jobs are completed on time. Collaborate with a cross-functional team of Tooling Engineers, CNC Machinists, and EDM Machinists. Independently assemble molds of any complexity to meet customer approval. Plan and schedule jobs to meet quoted delivery timelines. Disassemble and troubleshoot mold issues and develop cost- and time-effective action plans. Perform all inspection procedures efficiently with no supervision. Wire complete runner-less molds independently. Calculate timing for rack-and-gear molds and assemble molds with hydraulic cylinders. Safely operate all necessary shop equipment without supervision. Clearly communicate scope of work to outside vendors and prepare necessary prints or sketches. Operate a computer with Mastercam software. Help develop and document new procedures for increased efficiency on machine tools. Always wear appropriate safety equipment for the task or equipment in use. Participate in tool design reviews and quoting activities. Troubleshoot molds at the press. Order components needed for mold repair and maintenance. Fit parting lines and shutoffs for injection and LSR molds. Perform other tasks as assigned by the lead.
