About The Position

The Mold Maker Apprentice performs machine tool work, welding, brazing or bench work required in making repairs and alterations to molds, blanks, bottom plates or finish equipment. This position may also include machine tool or bench work on new mold equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 year technical degree in tool and die making or machine technology or equivalent years of direct work experience
• Experience using specialized measuring devices such as micrometer and calipers
• Experience reading blueprints
• CNC programming skills
• Welding experience
• A desire to learn and grow into the Journeyman position
• Must be able to pass the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test
• Must be able to work an 8 hour shift, with evenings and weekend as needed

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience CNC machine experience is highly desired

Responsibilities

• Repair parts including sanding, welding, griding, cutting and polishing as needed
• Use multiple air tools, hand tools, spray welders, CNC, lathes and torches
• Inspect and measure parts after work is completed
• Deliver job change mold equipment and assist with job changes
• Be expected to complete the 4-year apprentice program, which includes on-the-job training and classroom time (this is outside of normal work hours)
