About The Position

Under the direction of the Mold Maintenance Supervisor, the Mold Maintenance Techs are responsible for evaluating, maintaining, and repairing molds. Also, completing all necessary mold conversions. This will be achieved while maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Above-average mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and tool room equipment (mills, lathes, drill press, surface grinders, saws to fabricate parts)
  • Aptitude for very close tolerance precision work.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a machine shop or Mold Maintenance department with the ability to read blueprints.
  • Work independently.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability for daily and weekend overtime work required.
  • Experience working with injection molding tools.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for a minimum of 8 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cleaning all injection molding tools at the end of each production run.
  • Completely field strip mold according to the PM schedule.
  • Make repairs or replace components as needed, notifying management of repairs or replacements beyond in-house capability.
  • All work is to be documented in tooling files and computer databases.
  • Test and repair problems related to heaters, manifolds, and torpedoes.
  • Maintain the work area and clean the shop and equipment on a regular basis.
  • Keep the Mold Maintenance Supervisor posted on any supplies/tools needed.
  • Build shipping crates for molds being repaired by outside vendors.
  • Keep the mold vault organized.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Keep the ultrasonic tanks clean.
