The Mold Line Operator is responsible for participating in a 10-job rotation on a paced production line that incorporates all of the necessary functions required to create quality sand castings for memorial plates. This includes assembling the pattern, flask, gate, and core, monitoring the spraying booth that applies the releasing agent on the pattern, ensuring the pattern meets work order specifications, scanning work orders to record work performed in the JDE system as needed, making adjustments on the sand machine to accommodate mold size, using the strike-off board to move sand back and forth, filling all gaps and striking any excess sand off of the mold, operating the sand machine to fan thin layers of sand, forming and shaping sprue on the cope side of the mold, leveling sand to ensure it is evenly distributed across the entire mold, and breaking excess sand on the waste conveyor.
