The Molasses Operator position reads and follows instructions (oral, written, and by computer) to ensure materials are loaded and unloaded into and from the proper tank and the ADC system. Principle accountabilities include but are not limited to: Conveys samples from storage or work sites to Lab for analysis. Learns to operate the Trackmobile and moves cars around in the yard safely. Makes simple adjustments or repairs such as tightening packings and replacing pipe caps. Verifies tank car numbers with loading instructions to ensure accurate by-product is loaded. Inspects interior for cleanliness and exterior for leaks and damage. Starts pumps and turns valves to admit by-product into tank car. Inspects rupture disc, vacuum relief valve, rubber gaskets on valves and cover plates, and replaces defective parts. Monitors Juice storage tank information on a daily basis. Performs all cleaning duties in yard, at pump houses, and in MDS buildings as scheduled or as directed. Cross trains and works with the Ion Helpers where applicable to learn Ion Helper job to help as needed
