About The Position

QualDerm Partners is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Mohs Surgery Medical Assistant to join our Hickory, NC team. In this role, you will work closely with Mohs surgeons to ensure the highest level of patient care throughout the surgical process. As a Mohs Surgery Medical Assistant, you will assist in preparing patients for surgery, supporting the surgical team during procedures, and providing critical post-operative patient education. This position is ideal for someone passionate about dermatology and dedicated to patient wellness.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant or Surgical Technician preferred.
  • Previous experience in a medical assistant role, ideally within dermatology or surgical settings.
  • Knowledge of surgical asepsis, instruments, and patient care procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide compassionate patient support.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and basic office software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for Mohs surgical procedures by obtaining medical histories and vital signs.
  • Assist the surgeon during Mohs surgery by organizing instruments and ensuring a sterile environment.
  • Provide post-operative care instructions and educate patients on recovery and skin health.
  • Manage patient documentation accurately and maintain medical records.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling and ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the surgical suite.
