The successful candidate: Hours: PRN convenience role, requiring candidates to be available to work as needed, with special emphasis on Tuesdays. Under the general supervision of the Dermatologist/Mohs Surgeon, the Mohs Procedural Histotechnologist (MHTL) is responsible for handling and processing pathology specimens in accordance with standard operating procedures. This role requires specialized expertise in the time‑sensitive processes unique to Mohs surgery—far exceeding the scope of a generalist histotechnologist. The MHTL will proficiently and accurately process, cut, stain, and mount specimens for intra-procedural examination, enabling the surgeon to determine surgical completeness in real time. The MHTL also supports the implementation and management of Mohs‑specific quality standards in alignment with CLIA and CAP requirements. Operating in procedural environments unique to Mohs, this role requires a high degree of independence, strong decision‑making, and effective collaboration with general pathology and laboratory teams. The MHTL actively participates in process improvement initiatives and performs additional duties as assigned.
