This is a second shift position, from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with training conducted on the first shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM EST. The Module Support Technician operates various machines within the factory and assists in all classifications as needed. New hires in this role will initially enter at a specific Labor Grade and will progress to Labor Grade 1 after qualifying in three areas of the classification or after 6 months, whichever comes first. This onsite role is essential to the development of products, making modern flight possible for millions of travelers and for the military.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, preferably technical school background
  • Demonstration of basic educational competencies (reading, writing)
  • Blueprint and routing reading and comprehension
  • Competent with hand tools
  • Experienced with measuring equipment
  • Basic computer skills such as log on, data entry and retrieval
  • Obtain certifications and qualifications required to perform job
  • 8 hour RCRA hazardous waste handler training (initially and annually)
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Responsibilities

  • Operates various machines within the factory
  • Assists in all classifications as needed
  • Obtains necessary stock, fixtures, tooling and gaging
  • Operates manual and NC machines necessary to produce module parts (For example: Lathes, Grinders ECM Presses, Drills Saws)
  • Assist Finishing Technicians with direction
  • Performs handyman duties
  • Performs tumble and deburr operations
  • Performs clerk and tool crib duties
  • Performs machining duties
  • Performs plating duties
  • Performs material processing duties
  • Performs in-process inspection as a certified operator
  • Performs computer transactions
  • Perform Alodine process operations
  • Cleans machines
  • General housekeeping
  • Handles, transports and stores RCRA hazardous waste as required
  • Knows and follows established environmental, health and safety procedures, including proper disposal of wastes (chemical and non chemical), use of emission controls, (i.e., spray booth filters) and operation of environmental-control equipment
  • Uses/wears proper safety equipment (i.e., safety glasses, shoes, hoists and other lifting or moving equipment)
  • Maintains housekeeping in work area
  • Brings environmental, health and safety issues, unsafe acts, and safety improvement suggestions to management's attention or corrects as appropriate
  • Promptly reports accidents or injuries to management and EH&S team
