About the position

As a Module Reliability Engineer at Apple, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of new technology components by setting test specifications, driving equipment procurement, and executing stress testing. You will analyze data to assess reliability and collaborate with design teams to address failure modes, contributing to the development of innovative products like FaceID and iPhone Camera.

Responsibilities

  • Set test specifications and drive procurement/qualification of equipment critical to validation of Design Reliability.
  • Assess reliability by executing stress testing and analyzing resulting data.
  • Provide direction for failure analysis to understand root causes of failures and collaborate with design teams for corrective actions.
  • Drive and update Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Establish specifications for component/module reliability.
  • Set up reliability test infrastructure at Apple suppliers.
  • Perform validation test development and generate reliability test plans.
  • Drive test execution at Apple suppliers and analyze reliability data.
  • Summarize reliability data and drive failure analysis and mitigations.
  • Provide risk assessments.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering or equivalent field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering role involving hands-on work.
  • Understanding of the physics behind mechanical and electrical properties of materials.
  • Exposure to failure analysis techniques and materials characterization tools (e.g., scanning electron microscopy, CT scanning, FTIR).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel internationally without restrictions.

  • A graduate degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Extraordinary problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with design and manufacture of assemblies converting digital signals into physical signals.
  • Adept in statistical data analysis and capable of clear reporting.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, including remote activities at third-party vendor sites.
