About The Position

The Role and Impact As a Module Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Intel's manufacturing capabilities and shaping the future of semiconductor technology. This position allows you to lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced manufacturing processes and defect inspection tools, enabling Intel's industry-leading innovations. You will have the opportunity to influence high-volume manufacturing processes and technology pathfinding initiatives while collaborating with key equipment and material suppliers. Your contributions will directly impact Intel's product design, operational excellence, and continued leadership in the semiconductor industry.

Requirements

  • You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.
  • Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related STEM fields with 4+ years of relevant experience. OR Master's degree in the same fields with 3+ years of relevant experience. OR PhD in the same fields with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Depending on the degree level obtained and listed above, the listed years of experience for that degree level will be needed in the following areas: Experience in semiconductor fabrication processing, system controls, opto-mechanics, or mechanical systems.
  • Experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) principles.
  • Experience in metrology defect inspection and/or SEM.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Programming experience in Python or MATLAB.
  • Hands-on experience with robotics, automation systems, vision systems, and image processing.
  • Experience with packaging processes, equipment automation development, or project management in technology development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Passionate about advancing Intel's strategic goals and driving meaningful industry advancements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of defect inspection technologies for high-volume manufacturing and future technology processes.
  • Design and optimize advanced manufacturing processes, including material selection, parameter optimization, equipment metrology, and system design.
  • Perform feasibility studies and pathfinding activities to innovate device architectures and align with next-generation roadmaps.
  • Partner with equipment and material suppliers to implement enabling technologies that support Intel's technology goals.
  • Recommend and implement modifications to enhance equipment performance, optimize production efficiency, and improve manufacturing techniques.
  • Conduct process technology feasibility studies using theoretical simulations and practical engineering approaches.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and technical advancements to align development efforts with evolving semiconductor needs.
  • Develop cost-sensitive roadmaps by working with vendors to meet Intel's future technology requirements.
