About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Modification Mechanic F&H B to join our team in Everett, WA. Position Responsibilities: Determine work assignment based on schedule or direction from supervisor. Review paperwork and drawings to determine work to be accomplished Assist in locating work area using drawings, IP (Installation Plan), OSIP (Out of Sequence Installation Plan), NCO (Non-Conformance Order), or other paperwork that specifies airplane number, section number, and three-point location Obtain and verify pre-picked detail parts (kits), standards, and assemblies were issued correctly by comparing part numbers and quantities to W/O, IP, and/or BOM (Bill of Material) on drawing(s). Ensure that parts issued are effective for the airplane and are free of visible defects Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g., tiger and snorkel lifts), as required, to locate parts/assemblies into position or to perform assembly work Use precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometer, calipers) to measure dimensions per drawing, sketches, and engineer requirements Incorporate changes to aircraft to reconfigure to customer requirements. Install or rework interior and/or exterior components to engineering specifications Check own work as well as others as requested after completion of each operation in job and/or completed job to ensure it is complete per drawing, that there are no defects and that area around job is clean, prior to putting up for inspection Submit completed job or in-process checks, as required, to inspector at appropriate steps in sequence. Perform rework as required (e.g., pick-ups, special repairs) Consult with management and/or others (e.g., engineering, planning, inspection, or customer) on process/schedules or job-related issues as required Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner (e.g., lubricants, primer)

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a machinist, mechanic, or other mechanical aptitudes
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical troubleshooting, disassembly, and repair
  • Experience reading and interpreting system prints and schematics
