About The Position

Centrus Energy is seeking an experienced Modification (Mod) Manager to lead the full life-cycle delivery of facility and system modifications. The position requires demonstrated expertise in cost, schedule, risk, and configuration management within a highly regulated nuclear or process-industrial environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing multidisciplinary engineering or plant-modification projects in nuclear, chemical processing, or similarly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated success controlling scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and configuration for capital or sustaining-plant modifications.
  • Proficiency with integrated project controls tools, e.g., Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and written communication skills; adept at presenting technical and financial data to executive and regulatory audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Q-level security clearance.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
  • Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading constructability, operability, maintainability, and safety (COMS) reviews and coordinating outage or site-access schedules is highly desirable.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous but not required; equivalent credentials (e.g., APM, IPMA) considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all stages of the Engineering Change / Modification process – from initiation, scoping, and design through installation, commissioning, turnover, and close-out – ensuring alignment with Centrus Engineering Change Control and Configuration Management procedures.
  • Develop and maintain project baselines (scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and stakeholder registers). Author project management plans, perform change control, and meet performance objectives.
  • Coordinate multidiscipline engineering teams, construction contractors, maintenance staff, and plant operations to ensure design packages, work plans, and field execution comply with applicable codes, standards, and nuclear quality requirements.
  • Prepare and defend cost estimates, procurement packages, and forecasts; manage budgets and support negotiations with vendors or customers as required.
  • Champion nuclear-grade safety culture, perform hazard analyses, and participate in DOE/NRC audits. Ensure modifications satisfy NQA-1, 10 CFR, OSHA, NFPA, and site licensing requirements.
  • Provide clear, timely status reports, risk registers, and decision logs to senior management and external regulators; maintain project records in approved document-control systems.
