About The Position

Amentum is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Modernization and Transformation Subject Matter Expert. This position will serve as the modernization and transformation lead for a multifaceted, cross functional logistics team working to develop the Army's newest combat vehicle platform in the Army’s Product Manager, XM30, Program Executive Office (PEO) Ground Combat Systems (GCS) office. The candidate will serve as the focal point for both current and future logistics and sustainment planning efforts and will routinely coordinate with multiple external agencies and organizations to best support a cross-functional team. This individual will also be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive logistics and sustainment transformation and modernization plans, actions, and milestones as well supervising the execution of these plans, assessing their effectiveness and refining them as necessary. You will play an integral in developing and fielding the Army’s newest next generation combat platform. This position is on site at Detroit Arsenal. Other duties may be assigned to support client and contract deliverables.

Requirements

  • Experience with managing and performing process improvement to increase efficiency.
  • Experience with integrating artificial intelligence and/or machine learning processes in order to gain efficiencies.
  • Capable of operating independently and with minimal oversight to achieve desired objectives.
  • Must have or be able to obtain an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain design concepts, analyze and solve problems, prepare presentations, and receive feedback.
  • Excellent collaboration, multi-tasking and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize work effectively as part of a team.
  • 10 years of logistics, strategic planning, and defense projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and GCSS-Army.
  • Familiar with the Army’s Fleet Management Initiative (FMI).
  • Experience with automated data analysis
  • Experience in modernization, strategic planning, predictive logistics, procurement, and/or supply chain management.
  • Familiar with Supply Schain Risk Management processes
  • Experience with AGILE processes.
  • Experience with automotive or large platform maintenance and sustainment.
  • Bachelors degree in logistics, computer science, engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead for integrating new technologies and processes to support the Army’s vision of predicative logistics and sustainment models.
  • Advise the Army on how to leverage emerging artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities to increase automation of legacy logistics and sustainment processes.
  • Assist the Amy with developing systems and processes to automate logistics data analysis and develop flexible and resilient supply chain networks.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to modernize and integrate logistics, especially in contested environments for better readiness, data sharing and support across multiple domains.
  • Serve as the primary focal point for logistics and sustainment planning, ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders for this program.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive logistics and sustainment transformation and modernization plans, including actionable milestones and deliverables.
  • Supervise the execution of transformation plans, continuously assess their effectiveness, and refine strategies to adapt to evolving program needs.
  • Coordinate with both internal and multiple external stakeholders to align efforts and secure resources for cross-functional team success.
  • Lead the identification of innovative solutions and technologies to modernize Army logistics and sustainment processes.
  • Provide strategic guidance to leadership on transformation initiatives, presenting data-driven insights and make recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Oversee the integration of logistics and sustainment requirements into the overall vehicle platform development lifecycle, ensuring operational readiness.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration by fostering open communication and resolving conflicts or barriers to progress among diverse teams.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies in logistics and sustainment to keep the program at the forefront of innovation.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed reports, briefings, and presentations to senior leadership and external partners on transformation progress and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with Army regulations, policies, and standards in all logistics and sustainment planning and execution activities.
  • Develop the planning, managing, controlling, directing, and coordinating of logistics.
