One full-time, tenure-track teaching faculty position in Modern Languages is available, beginning with the Fall 2026 semester. The primary responsibility will be to teach first and second semester language courses, with the possibility of an upper-level literature or history course. A specialty in one of the four credit languages taught at NCC -- Spanish, French, Arabic or Chinese -- is desired. A candidate who is fluent and possesses graduate course work in two of these languages is preferred. The teaching load is 15 credits/semester; 30 credits/academic year. In addition to teaching, all faculty members must advise students, engage in substantive college service activities, and pursue professional growth activity every year. A Master's degree in the language is required; a degree in both languages is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess near-native fluency in both languages. The ideal candidate will also have three years of college teaching experience (preferably in a community college); the ability to meet the needs of community college students; experience working with students from culturally diverse backgrounds; and current knowledge of academic assessment practices. Willingness to collaborate with colleagues is also important.
