Eaton’s Aerospace Mission Systems Division (MSD) is currently seeking a Modeling & Simulation Manager. This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in the US, with a preference for candidates located near Orchard Park NY or Davenport IA. The expected annual salary range for this role is $130000 - $190000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Primary Function: This position is for a Modeling and Simulation Manager role supporting research and new product development in MSD. Our division delivers components and systems for space life support, air to air refueling, weapons storage/release, and other environmental systems for aircraft. The Modeling and Simulation Engineering (M&S) Manager is responsible for building, leading, and championing the team of M&S engineers to contribute to the development and sustainment of MSD products and systems. The role has three primary objectives. First is to be the M&S group line manager and will require resource management skills, standard work creation, team building, performance reviews, and other related responsibilities. Second, the candidate will be accountable for driving and implementing an “analysis first” vision and culture within MSD developing related implementation plans and quantifiable metrics . A focus will be on leveraging the team to demonstrate the potential of using M&S to inform critical design decisions, mitigate schedule and technical risks, and supplement development test activities. Finally, this person will be required to provide technical analysis and M&S subject matter expertise on either critical “short turn” or other activities to support the business and our customers as needed. The expectation is that the manager will “lead by example” with these types of individual contributor type opportunities. The candidate should have both a broad knowledge and demonstrated experience in stress/structural, performance 1D, and thermal fluids analyses. While the candidate does not have to have equal experience in each of these 3 analyses areas, the person should have sufficient depth within each area to support the technical caliber of the M&S group as well as the knowledge to effectively represent the M&S group when engaging with experienced engineering stakeholders and customers.
