Our work depends on a Modeling and Simulations Specialist/Technical Instructor joining our team to develop simulation support products and to run realistic simulation support tools for use during Commander's Assessments and External Evaluations for Special Operations Force (SOF) personnel before their deployments. HOW A MODELING AND SIMULATIONS SPECIALIST/TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: See SCA Directory of Occupations for Technical Instructor Be a part of the SOMTC's Mission Command Exercise Branch (MCEB), focused on developing simulation products that enhance training Analyze "real world" terrain from maps and graphical overlays and then accurately build that terrain into a simulation product. Add vehicles, personnel, and buildings to realistically represent the operational environment. Work as a member of a Modeling/Simulations team able to accept guidance as well as to provide sound suggestions after conducting analysis of the project. Utilize the simulations that you will help to develop to replicate aircraft, helicopters, and military vehicles moving through the battlespace. These simulations will add realism to the Special Operations Force units' training and helps them to view the battlefields they will potentially operate within. You will have access to and will use the most current simulation suites to create your products. Virtual Battlespace-4 (VBS-4) is a new "Games for Training" platform, and you will receive training on how to effectively use it.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field or equivalent military training/experience or equivalent military experience/training
  • Must be familiar with building three-dimensional terrain databases using a variety of software to include, but not limited to, 3D Max and Visitor 4, to include any related training.
  • Shall have experience with constructive and virtual computer simulations, video editing, and authoring of modeling/simulation scenarios.
  • Knowledge of Army Mission Command and/or Live, Virtual, Constructive and Gaming (LVCG) Systems.
  • Knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C++, or .NET.
  • Knowledge of military operational concepts.
  • Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance within 6 months.
  • Ability to work with self-initiative after receiving initial task guidance.
  • Ability to follow project schedules and meet designated completion dates.
  • US Citizenship Required

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience developing scenarios with Virtual Battle Space-3 (VBS-3) or VBS-4.
  • One-year experience managing Microsoft SharePoint portal collection sites.
  • One-year experience designing portals for exercise use
