About The Position

Are you looking to join a dynamic team supporting the U.S. Air Force where you'll help shape the future of operational readiness and training as a Modeling and Simulation Engineer? In this role, you'll develop and integrate advanced modeling architectures, ensuring interoperability across simulation platforms and mission-critical systems. Your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing training, analysis, and decision-making capabilities across the Air Force enterprise. As a Modeling and Simulation Engineer, you will design and implement advanced models to evaluate system performance and support strategic decision-making. You'll play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the U.S. Air Force by identifying system features and tactical approaches that enhance survivability and operational effectiveness within simulated environments. Your analytical work will support the acquisition community in making smarter, data-driven investment choices for next-generation warfare technologies. Along the way, you'll sharpen your abilities in critical thinking, data analysis, and operational assessment, while gaining hands-on experience in modeling and simulation (M&S) of combat operations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience within Department of Defense simulation and training programs.
  • Experience with a variety of COTS and GOTS M&S and data science tools, including MACE, MOCT, or VRSG.
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages, including C, C++, MATLAB, or Python.
  • Knowledge of combat weapon systems, ground-based radar technologies, and surface-to-air platforms.
  • Knowledge of high-level architecture, distributed interactive simulation, or open mission systems standards.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or CS field.
  • IAT Level II Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in multi-domain defense simulations, including air, space, missile defense, or cyber.
  • Experience supporting operational efforts through M&S development.
  • Experience working with large-scale distributed simulations.
  • Experience running and analyzing campaign or theater-level simulations.
  • Knowledge of AFSIM to perform operational analysis or M&S for the DoD.
  • Top Secret clearance.
