The Modeling and Simulation Analyst at Bowhead is responsible for installing, maintaining, updating, and operating simulation software and applications, as well as the operating systems that support them. This role is crucial in creating a constructive and virtual synthetic training environment that enhances real-world training for deploying units. The Analyst ensures the stability of the operating systems and simulation software, enabling training units to effectively exercise specified tasks and requirements.

  • Demonstrate expert-level knowledge in creating virtual and constructive environments for training audiences.
  • Provide Linux (RHEL) system administration support.
  • Configure, maintain, update, and monitor Red Hat using Red Hat Package Manager (RPM).
  • Operate, maintain, and update various simulations in support of training events.
  • Inform senior leadership and team members about the stability of training systems during events.
  • Translate event requirements and identify necessary simulations, equipment, and contractor resources.
  • Determine simulation event subscriber requirements for various simulation interfaces and selected communication and C4 systems.
  • Understand capabilities of scenario generation tools for terrain and force list database preparation.
  • Maintain knowledge of automated processing standards, life cycle management, and configuration management practices for supported OSs and simulations.
  • Travel throughout the operating force and supporting establishment to support simulation-based events and participate in planning meetings.
  • High level of proficiency in System Administration, primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 and up.
  • Ability to install new simulation systems into the organization's inventory.
  • Utilize Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to maintain Information Assurance compliance.
  • Associate degree in a relevant field and four or more years of military experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Department of Defense (DoD) modeling and simulation.
  • Certifications required: CompTIA Security+, Linux certification (RHCSA preferred) or ability to attain shortly after hire.
  • CompTIA Network certification.
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) on Windows Office 2010 or higher.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) on Windows 7 or higher.
  • Demonstrated experience with MTWS and other simulation models such as JCATS, JSAF, OneSAF, ARES/BVI, ExCIS, VBS3/4, TBMCS, CAC2S.
  • Target salary of $75,000 to $87,000 commensurate with experience.
