The position is an early career opportunity at Moody's, focusing on supporting the financial modeling and analytics team within the Model Development group. The role involves working with catastrophe models to analyze financial impacts, develop data analytics scripts, and prepare presentations and reports. The ideal candidate will be a college student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field, eager to learn and contribute to the team.

  • Supporting with analysis using Moody's RMS models and summarizing the results.
  • Preparing documents, charts, and presentations.
  • Development of aggregate data for Aggregate Loss Module.
  • Creating scripts/prototypes for data analytics.
  • Working on analytical, research, and data-related projects.
  • Strong programming skills preferably in R / Python.
  • Good working knowledge of MS-Excel and MS-SQL.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Students matriculating through college, studying towards a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Data analytics, or another quantitative field.
  • Knowledge of GIS application tools like QGIS.
  • Experience with command-line interfaces and Linux operating systems.
  • Interest in Catastrophic Risk Modelling and Property Insurance Industry.
  • Hourly rate of $35 depending on experience, education, level, skills, and location.
