About The Position
Founded in 2010 and with locations in Tempe and Tucson, JB Dental Lab is a state-of-the-art Full Service Dental Laboratory, specializing in digital Full-Arch Solutions. We take pride in utilizing advanced digital workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy in dental restorations, reducing chair time and ensuring high quality outcomes for patients. Position Summary The Dental Technician (Model Room Technician) will be responsible for creating dental models and prosthetics based on specifications provided by dentists, and work closely with the Crown and Bridge department to ensure that all work is coordinated effectively. The successful candidate will use their experience and skillsets to fabricate high-quality prosthetics that meet the needs and expectations of both the dental professionals and their patients. The position reports to the Crown & Bridge Manager and will be responsible for creating dental models and prosthetics based on specifications provided. This technician combines technical expertise with an uncompromising attention to detail, playing a key role in transforming milled materials into high-quality, patient-ready prosthetics. Success in this role requires pride in craftsmanship, consistency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Formal training in dental laboratory technology or related field
- Keen attention-to-detail
- Dexterity skills
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Manual dexterity to manipulate small instruments and equipment
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to see fine details of objects at a close distance
Responsibilities
- Model Production: Pour impressions with stone, pindex models, and saw out removable dies
- Crown & Bridge Models: Create precise stone models from dental impressions to support prosthetic fabrication
- Articulation: Mount models on articulators to accurately simulate patient jaw movement
- Quality Control: Trim, inspect, and check models for accuracy, ensuring they match doctor prescriptions and notes
- Case Management: Number models, organize case pans, and manage, clean, and maintain the work area
- Communicate with our internal team
