The GNC System Architecture group is seeking a highly motivated co-op student interested in working on a team responsible for the execution of Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test tasks that utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies. In this 6-month co-op role, the student will help the engineering team build and optimize SysML-based models using MagicDraw and create new capabilities within the tool.

  • Work closely with systems engineers to develop and implement new model-based processes and methods
  • Support the creation of modeling guidelines for developing requirements, use cases, functions, structural decomposition, and interfaces within the model
  • Explore model validation techniques to enforce a more common modeling approach across teams
  • Create and execute scripts that analyze data within an object-oriented program
  • Understand stakeholder needs and concerns and generate data from modeling tools to address them
  • Regularly present progress and technical artifacts to the team
  • Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for challenging problems
  • Implement, test, perform analysis, and provide documentation support
  • Generate and present test reports including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process
  • Complete assignments designed to develop a practical knowledge of processes, procedures, equipment, facilities, and systems as well as their interrelationships within engineering disciplines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Enrolled in an accredited engineering curriculum full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program required
  • Co-op Students must be able to work full-time for a 6 month period

  • Experience relevant to Guidance, Navigation and/or Control technologies
