About The Position

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL / Fort Belvoir, VA locations. PeopleTec is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development of Next Generation Missile Defense system-level requirements. This position plays a key role in defining, analyzing, and managing requirements spanning the entire system life cycle - from concept development through testing and deployment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or MBSE (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Proven experience in systems engineering supporting missile defense or other complex defense systems.
• Expertise with MBSE principles, SysML, and CAMEO Systems Modeler.
• Strong understanding of MDA system architectures, lifecycle processes, and verification/validation.
• Ability to translate high-level mission objectives into detailed technical requirements.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• An active DoD Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance is required to perform this work.
• Candidates are required to have an active Top Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level requirements definition and traceability across multiple MDA and external programs.
• Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies using CAMEO Systems Modeler to create, integrate, and maintain a comprehensive multi-layered architecture.
• Model and document system components, behaviors, and interfaces across multiple agencies to support the Next Generation Missile Defense architecture.
• Capture, analyze, and validate functional and performance requirements to ensure mission success.
• Conduct trade-off analyses and assess the impacts on system scalability and integration.
• Maintain continuous traceability from mission objectives through test and deployment.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, government stakeholders, and external partners to ensure system alignment with strategic defense goals
