Mobility Technician - Oncology Unit
About The Position
The Mobility Technician is responsible for assisting clinical staff and members of the interprofessional healthcare team, as assigned, under the direct supervision of clinical staff within inpatient setting. This position performs delegated activities that include but are not limited to patient mobility, infection control processes, assisting patients in practicing exercises or functional activities, transporting patients to and from treatment areas, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and a variety of basic clerical functions supporting clinical staff in successful provision of treatment plans. Department Overview: This unit cares for Medical and Surgical oncology patients in an inpatient, 36-bed unit. The unit is both an oncology unit and intermediate care! We are hiring compassionate Patient Care Technicians to support our nursing team with chemotherapy and hospice patients. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital , located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School. In addition to the high-quality heart program at Sentara Heart Hospital, our facility is home to Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance and several other dedicated facilities and specialized services. As a recognized accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, our hospital specializes in heart and vascular, neurosciences, neurosurgery, urology, oncology, spine care, advanced imaging, behavioral health, maternity, and women’s health, including a state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit.
