About The Position

The Mobility Technician at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting clinical staff and the interprofessional healthcare team by assisting with patient mobility and care in an inpatient setting. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) required.
  • Entry-level position with less than 1 year of experience in patient care or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and computer skills.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Patient Care Assistant or Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting.
  • Experience in therapy (PT/OT/Rehab Tech) or nursing students who have completed their first clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clinical staff and interprofessional healthcare team under direct supervision.
  • Perform patient mobility tasks, including transporting patients and assisting with exercises.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, ensuring it is stocked and supplied appropriately.
  • Provide direct patient care following established guidelines for safety and customer service.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to assist patients based on identified needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and contribute to department scorecards.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize daily tasks to meet labor productivity standards.
