About The Position

Great Western Trailer (GWT) is immediately hiring a full-time Mobile Technician at our Dearborn, MI facility. As a Mobile Technician, you will perform maintenance and repairs on semi-trailers using a mobile service truck, traveling to customer sites to deliver high-quality service and support. Requirements

Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (no recent DUIs).
Valid CDL license and DOT medical card.
Reliable transportation.
Own a personal set of hand tools (except in California).
Broad knowledge of semi-trailer equipment, tools, and systems.
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and welding equipment.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 7 years of experience in semi-trailer repairs.
ASE or other industry-recognized certifications (welding certification a plus).
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

Inspect & Repair: Perform maintenance and repairs on air brake systems, electrical systems, and trailer components.
Inspect and repair trailer bodies, chassis, doors, floors, and more.
Handle minor mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic assemblies, including lift gates.
Conduct welding, cutting, and fabrication as needed.
Install & Replace: Install add-on components such as toolboxes, ramp kits, dunnage racks, and winches.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
Quality Checks & Reporting: Prepare service reports and documentation.
Examine work for defects and ensure high-quality repairs.
Follow troubleshooting procedures and communicate concerns or needs.
Safety First: Follow all safety standards, policies, and regulations.
Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipment.
