About The Position

Penske Mobile Technician II will generally assist in the repair and diagnosis of major components or remove/replace major components at the direction of the PFM Asset Supervisor. Expectations include the ability to perform preventive maintenance (PM) service and to diagnose and repair the following with little or no supervision: Clutches, PTO Systems, Electric Systems, Hydraulic/Air Brake systems, Heating/Air Conditioning Systems, and Instruments and Gauges. This position is managed by our corporate team, and the Mobile Tech II will not work on equipment in a Penske facility. The Mobile Technician II is expected to demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of various systems including engines (gas and diesel), power train components such as differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTOs, and wheel ends. The role also involves working on electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, steering systems, and electronics such as ECMs, ECUs, and sensors. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for performing mechanical and general appearance reconditioning of equipment for trade-ins and preparing new equipment for delivery. The technician will identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units, perform all levels of preventive maintenance services, and document warrantable repairs. Maintaining a clean and safe work area is crucial, as is compliance with all Penske and customer work requirements. The role may also require road testing vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or ensure proper functionality. The technician will utilize a variety of hand and power tools to perform their duties effectively.
