The Role You Could Play We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Mobile App Tech Lead to help shape the future of how beauty meets technology at MECCA. You’ll play a key role in delivering a seamless, high-performing mobile experience for our customers while leading a cross-functional team of mobile and backend engineers. This role goes beyond delivery. You’ll lead and mentor the team, set technical direction across mobile and supporting backend services, and influence how we build by embracing strong engineering practices such as Continuous Delivery, frequent releases, automation, and observability. From architecture through to deployment, you’ll have the autonomy to drive improvements across both product and process. Your day-to-day will also include responsibilities such as: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-platform mobile development teams, driving a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence Proven experience architecting and delivering high-quality React Native applications with strong emphasis on performance, security (OAuth, JWT, biometric), and responsive UI/UX Deep understanding of modern mobile practices including Agile methodologies, CI/CD automation, mobile app monitoring, and compliance with privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR) Strong collaboration skills with experience engaging cross-functional teams including DevOps, backend services, product, UX/UI, analytics, and marketing to deliver integrated solutions Skilled in technical oversight and governance, including code reviews, documentation standards, project risk forecasting, and adherence to platform guidelines (App Store/Google Play) What You Will Bring You’ll bring deep expertise in React Native, a strong understanding of iOS and Android, and the ability to collaborate closely with backend engineers to build scalable, secure, and performant systems. Working alongside Product, UX, and Business teams, you’ll help deliver a truly seamless omnichannel experience. You are an experienced mobile development leader with over 8 years in the field, including 3+ years leading high-performing teams in fast-paced, product-driven environments. With a strong background in large-scale consumer or e-commerce applications, you’re known for your ability to navigate complex technical challenges, collaborate effectively across disciplines, and deliver seamless mobile experiences. Your proactive mindset and passion for innovation keep you ahead of industry trends, and your communication skills make you a natural collaborator in cross-functional environments.
