About The Position

Under supervision, operates a mobile shear in a facility, shearing scrap to size required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Prior experience operating heavy machinery preferred but not required as we will train candidates.
• Some mechanical aptitude necessary.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 30-50 lbs and 100+lbs on 2-person lift.

Responsibilities

• Inspects all inbound/outbound material
• Inspects all material prior to shearing to ensure it meets our inbound source control policies
• Sorts scrap material in appropriate areas
• Operates an excavator with a shear attached; shears scrap to proper size
• Load trucks and rail cars with scrap material
• Handles minor maintenance duties
• Completes production and inspections reports as required
• Other responsibilities as assigned
