About The Position

Job Title: Mobile Service Technician Job Classification: Non-Exempt Reports To: Field Service Manager Essential Duties (including, but not limited to): Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology Consult equipment operating manuals, schematics, and drawings Perform scheduled maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating parts Diagnose and identify malfunctions, using computerized tools and equipment Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts, such as bearings, pistons, and gears Overhaul and test major components, such as engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems Dissemble and reassemble equipment and components Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of information May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products Travel to and from various customers’ locations to perform assigned tasks Non-Essential Duties (including, but not limited to): Other duties as requested/assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Driving history suitable for coverage under company insurance
  • 3 - 5 years of equipment repair experience required
  • Valid Driver’s License required

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of automotive repair, electronics, and/or welding is desired
  • One year of familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures desired
  • Formal vocational or post-secondary training in diesel technology or equipment mechanics desired
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities
  • Team player, willingness to and be adaptable in challenging situations
  • Bilingual communications (if fluent in other than English languages)
  • Familiarity with golf equipment preferred
