About The Position

Position Overview: The Retail Sales Agent is responsible for managing ticket sales and retail transactions at designated locations, including Basin St. Station, Jackson Square, and Riverwalk kiosks. This position serves as the first point of contact for customers, ensuring a professional and engaging experience. Retail Sales Agents must demonstrate strong sales abilities, exceptional customer service, and the ability to operate a point-of-sale system efficiently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to) Sales & Transactions · Convert passersby into customers by promoting and selling tickets. · Process cash, credit card, and voucher/coupon sales transactions accurately. · Meet and exceed daily and weekly sales goals. · Maintain proper inventory levels for displays, racks, and countertops. Guest Services · Provide guests with tour and general visitor information in an efficient and friendly manner. · Address guest inquiries, requests, and complaints professionally and effectively. · Solicit customer feedback to improve sales and service. · Answer the phone in a courteous and professional manner. Safety & Security · Handle cash, credit card transactions, and guest information securely. · Follow company policies related to safety, emergencies, and incident reporting. · Maintain retail locations in a neat and orderly manner. Operational Responsibilities · Communicate with supervisors regarding operational updates, guest feedback, and sales performance. · Maintain positive relationships with City Sightseeing New Orleans affiliates while upholding a fun and professional company image. · Assist with additional operational tasks as requested by the General Manager or Supervisor. Qualifications · Ability to attract and engage customers, promote products, and convert sales professionally. · Familiarity with key New Orleans attractions. · Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills. · Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities. · Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. · Proficiency in operating a point-of-sale system and troubleshooting minor technical issues. · Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to handle U.S. currency accurately. · Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Physical Demands · Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods. · Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling cash and operating POS equipment. · Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. · Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
