About The Position

Mobile Reefer Technician will support our Fleet Division. This role is ideal for a self-motivated technician who enjoys working in the field, diagnosing complex issues, and servicing transport refrigeration equipment at customer locations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience servicing and repairing Thermo King and/or Carrier transport refrigeration units (truck & trailer).
  • EPA Section 608/609 Certification required; ASE certifications in Refrigeration or Medium/Heavy Truck preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills using electronic test equipment, scanners, and onboard computers.
  • Must be 21+ with a valid Drivers License and clean driving record; CDL a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in outdoor environments with regular travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair truck and trailer refrigeration units, including Thermo King and related equipment.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics using scanners, electronic test equipment, and onboard computer systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and component replacements on transport refrigeration units and APUs.
  • Review and complete shop orders accurately while maintaining service documentation.
  • Identify and repair system failures, including leak detection, component removal/replacement, and Freon system testing.
  • Assemble, install, and replace refrigeration components using soldering, welding, and refrigeration tools.
  • Install new refrigeration units on trucks, trailers, and vans.
  • Travel regularly to customer sites to perform mobile service calls, operating company vehicles safely and within road and weather conditions.
  • Follow all company safety policies, DOT requirements, and auto safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support service operations.
