About The Position

The Mobile Phlebotomist position at American Health Associates involves traveling to various facilities to collect blood specimens from patients, primarily in long-term care settings. Requirements

• Valid state-issued Driver License; must be at least 21 years old.
• Clean driving record for the last 5 years.
• Must own reliable transportation.
• Must have and maintain required auto insurance coverage.
• Must have a clean criminal history record, as required for positions with direct patient care.
• 1 year of phlebotomy work experience required.
• Must possess a passion for safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Follows established phlebotomy procedures for obtaining samples from patients.
• Properly and accurately identify all patients according to AHA's Phlebotomy Patient Identification Policy prior to collection.
• Ensures that specimens are properly labeled, in the correct tube, and accompanied by a completed requisition before transport.
• Follows AHA's phlebotomy policy on transporting PHI.
• Maintain a positive attitude and concern for patient and staff safety, demonstrating quality patient care.
• Understand and be knowledgeable of resident rights, patient care, and the patient's right to refuse.
• Ability to obtain blood specimens from patients under various conditions.
• Works cooperatively with dispatch, payroll, laboratory, and courier departments.
• Possess knowledge of medical terminology as it relates to laboratory purposes.
• Knowledge of required specimen preservation, adequate patient preparation, and specimen procedures.
• Able to work under minimal supervision.
• Promptly answers company-issued mobile device, checks in and out of patient homes or client facilities.
