Mobile Phlebotomist
About The Position
The Mobile Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood using proper protocol and technique, receiving pre-collected specimens from clients, preparing specimens for transport to the laboratory, and transporting them. This role requires proper documentation of all tasks. The successful individual will frequently work with elderly or compromised patients, demonstrating the consistent ability to provide respectful, compassionate care, understanding that these patients may respond emotionally to blood draws or may require more advanced blood draw techniques due to their physical condition. The work environment includes driving a company or personal vehicle various distances in all types of weather and traffic conditions, requiring the phlebotomist to function consistently under stress and be highly safety conscious.
Requirements
- Demonstrate the consistent ability to provide respectful, compassionate care to elderly or compromised patients.
- Ability to understand and respond to patients who may respond emotionally to blood draws.
- Ability to utilize more advanced blood draw technique due to patient physical condition.
- Ability to drive a company or personal vehicle various distances in all types of weather and traffic conditions.
- Ability to function consistently under stress.
- Be highly safety conscious.
