Your Role: As a Mobile Health Vehicle Driver/Aide, you play a critical role in delivering care directly to patients across our service area. You’ll safely operate and maintain a mobile medical vehicle, assist with patient flow and comfort, and support technologists by ensuring the vehicle is clean, stocked, and ready for patient care. This role combines safe driving, hands-on patient assistance, and teamwork in a mission-driven healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Montana Class B Commercial Driver’s License (required); Class A CDL preferred.
  • Driving record for the previous thirty-six (36) months must be free of major offenses, including DUI, felony involving a motor vehicle, suspended license, or three (3) or more moving violations.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (preferred) or ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of hire.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a related position preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented, self-starter with critical thinking and prioritization abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional software as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive the mobile medical vehicle and tow car to various service locations, including winter driving and chaining tires as needed.
  • Park, level, and power the mobile unit at destination sites, including generator use when required.
  • Perform accurate pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Complete general vehicle maintenance such as checking fluids, fueling, washing, and window cleaning.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs with the Lead Driver/Aide and mechanic.
  • Accurately maintain DOT logs using a portable device per department protocol.
  • Prepare the mobile vehicle for patient care, including stocking exam rooms, dressing rooms, and supplies.
  • Escort patients from medical facilities to the mobile unit and assist with boarding and exiting, including use of a mechanical wheelchair lift.
  • Escort patients to dressing rooms and assist as needed.
  • At the discretion of the technologist, obtain patient information and assist with registration in the computer system.
  • Clean patient rooms and dressing rooms, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and equipment cleaning.
  • Remove soiled laundry and obtain clean gowns and towels from the medical facility.
  • Obtain medical supplies as needed and ensure the mobile vehicle remains fully stocked.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
