About The Position

This position offers a $2,000 (1 year stay-on agreement) or 4,000 (2 year stay-on agreement) Sign On Bonus with the agency! This bonus will be provided upon completion of a probationary period. Responsibilities : Under the guidance of the Crisis Services Coordinator, this position entails serving as a master’s level professional clinician who provides a comprehensive array of direct and indirect mental health and substance abuse services within a collaborative team environment. The primary focus is to deliver immediate crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing mental illness or co-occurring substance use disorders. The clinician will operate both in an office setting and within the community as required. Collaboration with community partners is essential to determine suitable treatment options for stabilization, along with the provision of follow-up care, ensuring continuous communication takes place. This role includes the responsibility for thorough case documentation. The clinician evaluates challenging behaviors and emotional trauma through interviews and observations of consumers, as well as by reviewing records and developing a concise crisis intervention plan based on a strength-based approach. Additionally, the clinician is accountable for executing all activities of the sub-unit in a manner that aligns with CMHA-CEI's mission, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Possession of a master’s degree in social work, Psychology or related field is required.
  • One year experience (professional or paraprofessional) in treating or working with persons with mental illness required or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience working with persons with mental illness required.
  • Possession of appropriate State of Michigan credential is required.
  • Must pass background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, Central Registry Screening, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history.
  • May be required to possess a valid Michigan driver's license.
  • Access to reliable means of transportation for job related use required.
  • Must pass a State of Michigan police clearance check.
  • May be required to be fingerprinted.
  • May be required to pass a pre-employment physical.
  • May be required to possess the State Of Michigan Certified Addictions Counselor credential.
