Your Role & Impact The Mobile Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting clinical and administrative functions in community-based outreach initiatives. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs, medical histories, preparing patients for examinations, drawing blood, and administering medications. Administrative duties may include answering phone calls, registering new patients, scheduling appointments, and collecting and posting fees. This role involves traveling to sites, engaging with underserved populations, helping with preventative services, immunizations, and home visits. The MA plays a vital role in improving access to health care, ensuring continuity of care and promoting health equity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate and Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Reliable transportation with a CA driver’s license, proof of car insurance, and a clean driving record for the last three years.
  • Availability to work outside of normal shifts (e.g. 8am to 5pm) , work two Saturdays a month and an occasional Sunday.
  • Knowledge of Vaccines for Adults (VFA) and Vaccines for Children (VFC) program requirements.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, lab procedures, and healthcare workflows

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in healthcare-related field
  • bilingual in English and Spanish
